Who we are
This website is run by Guestfolk. You can email us at hello@guestfolk.com.
This website
- Cookies only if you say yes, and only for Google Analytics. Until you do, the site sets none.
- No adverts, and no advertising or social media tracking tags.
- The pages, fonts and pictures all come from this site. The only other company it talks to is Google, and only if you say yes.
- One form: Book a demo. What you type goes to us through Netlify, our web host, and nowhere else.
The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify handles technical information such as IP addresses to deliver the pages and keep the service secure. We don’t use it to identify or follow you.
Cookies and Google Analytics
The first time you visit, a small box asks whether we can use Google Analytics. If you say no, or don’t answer, nothing loads from Google and no cookies are set.
If you say yes, Google Analytics sets two cookies, _ga and one starting _ga_, which last up to two years. They let us count visits and see which pages people read and how they found the site: the pages you visit, the site or search that sent you, your type of device and browser, and roughly where you are (your town or country). They don’t tell us who you are. We don’t use Google’s advertising features or Google signals, and Google Analytics doesn’t store your IP address.
Google processes this for us under its data processing terms, and may do so outside the UK with the safeguards those terms require. Our reason for using these cookies is your consent.
Your answer is kept in your browser, not in a cookie, so the box doesn’t ask on every page. It asks again after a year. To change your mind, use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. Saying no removes Google’s cookies.
If you book a demo or email us
We get your name, your email address, your club’s name and whatever else you tell us. We use them to reply to you, to arrange a demo, and, if you become a customer, to set up your club. Demo requests are kept in our Netlify account, where only we can see them.
We don’t add you to a mailing list, and we don’t sell or share your details. We keep your request and emails while we’re in touch, and delete them when we no longer need them, unless the law says we have to keep them.
Under UK data protection law, our reason for using your details is our legitimate interest in replying to you, or the steps you ask us to take before a contract.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, and ask us to correct it or delete it. Just email hello@guestfolk.com. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
